Inside the Ember & Oak shop

A shop, a roaster, and a stubborn idea

Ember & Oak started in 2019 with a used 12-kilo machine in a garage on Kiln Row and a stubborn idea: most home coffee is under-extracted, over-roasted, and served in gear that fights you. So we roast lightly, rest properly, and sell only the handful of tools we use ourselves — each one chosen because it made the same coffee taste better than the last thing did.

Every bag is roasted Tuesdays and shipped Wednesdays. If a lot doesn't knock our socks off, it doesn't go in the hopper. If a tool survives a year on our counter, it goes in the catalogue. That's the entire business plan.
